DRAGONFLY OR DAMSELFLY?

Dragonflies and damselflies were on Earth more than

200 million years ago, even before the dinosaurs.

Damselflies are smaller than dragonflies, with bodies that typically range between 1 1/2 inches to 2 inches, while dragonfly bodies are typically longer than 2 inches.

Did you know that they are carnivores, but they don’t eat the kind of meat we do? They chase smaller flying insects like mosquitoes and gnats. This makes them

helpful to humans by keeping those pesky insects

that could carry diseases in check.
